Born in Germany, Nikolaus became a student of Prof. Petru Munteanu at the age of just 12. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music London, at the Leopold Mozart College of Music of Augsburg, and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with distinguished professors like Prof. Thomas Selditz, Prof. Paul Silverthorne, Prof. Petru Munteanu, Prof. Remus Azoitei and Prof. Alexander Pavlovsky. He is an award winner of numerous international competitions and was awarded with the Harald-Craxton Prize of the Royal Academy of Music in 2023. He is founding member of the Vienna-based Lironima Quartet.
